Say what???
It feels kind of strange giving less than four stars to a book by the team Ilona Andrews, but although i liked it, i wasn't able to love it.
The story starts strong, and it could have been stronger.... had it stayed on track!
Had it focused more on the situation that the pack went to resolve overseas, and less on romance drama i would have liked it so much more...
Look, one thing i love about Curran and Kate as a couple, it's that they're strong individually and stronger as a team...they're smart (normally), capable, intelligent people (werelion..) and they have a great dynamic and chemistry...
...SO... to "see", to read THIS...it was painful!! I had a moment when i was thinking that Hugh could be perfect for Kate!!!
Argh, oh the blasphemy!! (although i guess, i should thank Heavens (also known as the creative minds behind the book), that the guy didn't appear on the first book....
*love triangle* Ugh....
So yes, this part really didn't work for me, because it just felt convoluted in a YA Drama Teen Fest kind of WAY!!
The reason behind all the drama between Kate and Curran is one of the most idiotic things i ever read....she's Kate Daniel's for crying out loud!! She slays MONSTERS!!
Oh, hell no!!
Kate Daniels and YA do not combine!!
And the story didn't need it!!
As a reader, i would have been much more happier had i had more dialogues and interaction between Kate and Andrea...Andrea and Raphael...and don't even get me started on Jim and Dali!! She could at least have made an appearance...
Bottom line:
I liked it, but i didn't love it...unlike what happened with the previous ones.
