Beware: Sarcasm will abound in the following text....
I'm drowning in words, one, two, three thousands, twenty millions words.
My mind is a battlefield of feelings feelings, i tell you, feelings as vast as the ocean. As vast as the raindrops that fall from the angry clouds.
The clouds hate hate hate me. I'm broken, shattered that the clouds hate me. That their raindrops are bitter and sharp against my poor broken body. The world hates me.
No one understands my pain. The wind, the cruel vicious wind makes my fantastic soft wavy hair float all around me, like it's screaming me:
Monster, monster you are a monster!
I curl into a perfect ball of loveliness, my body curved into a perfect line of grace and perfection.
From my outstanding eyes, eyes, eyes of green and blue, as was never seen, falls a crystal of water.Water as pure as the purest diamond. It's brilliance and perfection so outstanding, that for a while the world fades into a haze...
O_O
I'm sorry, but i just couldn't resist it...
A whole book, filled with practically only metaphors, metaphors, similes and more similes, is not a story.
This book has just leeched my will to live!! (See?? See? I'm even sounding like a fifteen year old myself!)
Look, i could understand the different writing style in the first book! In fact, i even appreciated it due to Juliette traumas! But enough is enough! Where is the character development?
This book has no plot whatsoever!! The whole fight between the good and bad guys was written at a minimalistic level....it's barely there!
More than four hundred pages of angst, angst, and more angst!!
Me, me, me, me, me, me, me..
My, my, my, my, my........
Juliette has a lot of problems. Fine, but that should have been....better conciliated with a PLOT!! Where was the plot?????????
The world building doesn't exist.
Juliette and her band of misfits continue being represented as some sort of second category X-MEN wanna be's.
Then there was the brain cirurgy on two characters. Yes, that's right! Adam and Warner.
The author decided to remove Adam's leading character personality and simply give it to Warner.
That's right..she gave it, to our friendly psychotic character, who in the first book used a toddler to torture Juliette!
But wait. This is the new Warner, version 2.1.
Gone are..his psychotic and abusive layers!
Now..he's Aaron the tortured and misunderstood male character revealed in the short Destroy Me.
This means that after awhile, Juliette _the most beautiful girl ever to walk the planet _ instead of making out with Adam, makes out with Warner....Warner the guy who wanted to keep her as his project, Warner the guy that tortured Adam, the great, great LOVE of Juliette's life.
Great message to all the teenage girls out there: Twisted psycho's, insane characters are in fact huggable teddy bears who just want to be loved....Forever, and ever!
Then there's was a thing...so cliched in a soap opera way...that was just unbelievable!
You know what's the strangest thing?
Up until a certain point i wasn't hating this to the point of insanity!
But then i stopped reading this for a day, and after that...i guess the brainwashing quality of the writing lost his power!! o_O
I said it before, and i'll say it again:
Warner's change of "heart" isn't feasible for those who have read the first book!!
The only thing it does, is to spread the message, that obsessive/stalkerish behaviours should be seen as romantic.
And this was written by a woman.
Yes, i'm done with this series. With Juliette dramas, and all the handsome, beautiful villains...
Oh, Kenji!! How were you created into this series?
You're sane, logical, and funny!!
What did you do to deserve such a plot?
You're the only positive thing in this mess!
“Yeah, bro.” Kenji puts his utensils down. “You are moody. It’s always ‘Shut up, Kenji.’ ‘Go to sleep, Kenji.’ ‘No one wants to see you naked, Kenji.’ When I know for a fact that there are thousands of people who would love to see me naked—”
“I’ll be right back,” Kenji shouts over his shoulder, twisting to flash us an overly enthusiastic thumbs-up. “Try not to get naked in front of everyone, okay? There are kids in here.”
“You are such an idiot,” he says to me, but I’m still staring at Warner.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Kenji is saying to me. “Are you even listening to me? Are you insane?”
“Ah, shit.” Kenji sighs, like he can’t believe he got stuck listening to problems about my love life. “I just walked right into that, didn’t I?”
And I’d really appreciate it if you’d grow the hell up and stop walking around like the world crapped on your only roll of toilet paper. Because it’s stupid,” he says, barely reining in his temper. “It’s stupid, and it’s ungrateful. You don’t have a clue what everyone else in the world is going through right now. You don’t have a clue, Juliette. And you don’t seem to give a damn, either.”
“I mean, I just have to say—that last line? ‘I wish I could love you less’? That was genius. Really, really nice. I think Winston actually shed a tear—”
“What?” He looks mortally offended. “Do I look like the kind of guy who’s never had a girlfriend? Have you even met me?”
What more can i say?
The author writing style promises so much, but it's my believe that she needs to starts focusing more on the stories and less on the character's feelings!
There's such promise in her writing, which just infuriates me even more, after reading this!! What a waste...
Oh, and as usual the cover is outstanding.
